Thanks that was useful. I only just got Warhammer 3. I'm not one of these high difficulty doomstacking players - I prefer to take a couple of many different types of unit and then figure out what they're good for.

What does going over the colony settlement limit do? Have they just not implemented enforcing the limit and its more of an honour system right now?

I find this faction to be very difficult. Getting your economy up and running without everyone declaring war on you is hard. Getting out of your base with your single army early to mid game is difficult with so many factions hating you, most of them with superior infantry. Micro managing your gunpowder units is hard af to keep them firing. Always out matched in battle.

I don't think the map was made-up; it's based on MERP (Middle-Earth Role Playing tabletop game, published in two editions in 1980s and 1990s). So although they advertise that as a mod based on Tolkien's books, in fact it closely follows MERP, and it's really MERP reimagining in CK3 rather than LotR and Tolkien's Legendarium. As you observed, most of the map shouldn't be there. And they're adding even more than that, all based on regions described in MERP supplements. Still, doesn't make it bad: the original LotR world would be actually very boring, since it's very small, so people from Realms in Exile made a good decision to follow MERP material which offers much more and it's more diverse in terms of different cultures and empires.

On point 3, saurus warriors actually do a substantial amount of thier damage as armor piercing and have stupidly high weapon strength so they actually do decently well against armor, especially the blessed version.

Thank you very much for this guide. I have recently picked Pharaoh up and want to play as historically as possible. My main issue with this game, compare to Rome 2 and Atilla (and the reason I could never get into 3K) is... it just seems so overwhelming. I started my campaign on normal to learn the ropes and there is just so much stuff. I really appreciate the video but a 35min guide on 1 faction makes the game seem very daunting to me. Are there any very basic tips for a newbie, or a video guide you could direct me to pleasE?

Would be awesome to have some form of limited movement at least but I am unsure if thr ZOC system is the right thing for that since there are definitely holdings you should be able to bypass. Perhaps a system where certain holdings block specific passages would be better rather than an umbrella solution. Although, I think this would need to be done by pdx itself. This isn't the only thing that needs to be done in terms of army movement. They should also add some system for military access. Just being able to march giant armies through anyone's territory is kind of wack but I dislike the idea of it being a hard block like in EU4.

I really appreciate your CK3 LotR videos. Start again as Balin's expedition and develop from there on / reforge the old blue mountains strongholds and then unite all the dwarven mountains and hills of the world. Centering the newfound empire around Gundabad would be very cool given the lore about the first dwarves there. Otherwise you could re-form Angmar as the witch king and take over Arnor/Dunedains for good.

If you haven't yet, it might be worth doing an updated version of this video (also what do you think about the ikko ikki theocracy? (It's one exclusive to Japan), I think it is arguably one of the best options for Japan if attempting a 1 faith if you manage to go back to Shinto)

Great guide to start! I think like a lot of people I got Troy but it’s just, meh. Overall between Roman, greek and Egyptian, greek is my least favorite so I’m happy to try this even tho the period is the most primitive. Also I believe this is Rameses III and Rameses II is Rameses the great.

Or alternatively, a Uruk who decided "Fuck this." and left Sauron's lands to form a new people, neither good nor evil and forming an Uruk Nation of Neutral Uruks both in terms of Culture and Faith.

Maybe you might be able to vassalize some of these guys if you learn their languages and maybe promote acceptance to the ones not too far from saying yes.

If I'm not mistaken, not sure if this mod has it but there usually is a disembarking debuff for troops getting off a boat. If you catch them with the debuff it could lead to a victory in battle

Even more than other Dwarfs wall breaker is not all that useful as with his war machines and air forcs ths odds of you actually sieging for even one turn are low. *2cents*

There’s an excellent mod for Malakai that makes his barge more reasonable and also adds upgrading it as a new mechanic, highly recommend Great guide, was just gearing up for a Malakai campaign!
